FOAM-TAPE is a self-adhesive elastomeric rubber foam tape designed to provide a perfect thermal seal and insulation continuity across the entire FOAM System installation. It is specifically intended for insulation of ventilation systems, primarily used for joining rubber foam sheets and insulating irregular shapes that are challenging to cover with pre-formed fittings. This tape is essential for completing the thermal and vapour barrier at every joint and connection point.
Application and Installation Requirements
The tape ensures a quick and reliable sealing process when connecting pre-insulated elements, such as the various bends and couplings in the FOAM System. Correct application is critical for maximum performance.
Primary Use: Securing joint connections between pre-insulated elements (ducts, fittings) where the exposed metal is present, and ensuring the continuity of the rubber foam insulation.
Surface Condition: The surface to which FOAM-TAPE is applied must be dry and clean.
Temperature Requirement: The application temperature must be maintained above 4degC.
Installation Method: Connect the pre-insulated elements, remove the release paper from the tape, and secure the joint connection by wrapping it with the adhesive FOAM-TAPE.
Technical Data and Fire Safety
FOAM-TAPE is engineered to meet stringent technical specifications, particularly regarding its low thermal conductivity and resistance to fire and water vapour diffusion.
Key Performance Parameters
Thermal Conductivity (lambda, at -20degC): 0.032 W/(m2K) (EN 12667)
Water Vapour Diffusion Resistance (mu): mu is greater than or equal to 7000 (EN 12086), providing an excellent vapour barrier.
Temperature Range: Suitable for a wide operational temperature range from -40degC to +85degC (EN 14706).
Reaction to Fire Classification: B-s3, d0 (EN 13501-1), confirming a strong fire rating for commercial applications.
Available Dimensions
The tape is consistently 3mm thick and available in two standard widths, supplied in a convenient roll length for site use.
