The FLX-HDPE and FLX-HDPE-A product range consists of semi-rigid, non-metallic ducts designed for efficient air distribution within domestic ventilation systems. Constructed from high-impact polyethylene (PE), this ductwork ensures exceptional durability and is the preferred choice for installations that require concealment within ceilings, floor screeds, or suspended structures.

Installer Focus: Dimensions, Material, and Simple Connection

These ducts offer technical benefits that streamline the installation process while ensuring system integrity and performance.

  • Small Diameter Advantage: The relatively small outer diameters (DN 50mm to DN 90mm) allow for the entire installation to be easily hidden within standard construction layers, reducing architectural impact.
  • Duct Delivery Format: All semi-rigid ducting is delivered in practical 50-metre long coils, significantly minimising the number of necessary connections and reducing installation time.
  • Push-Fit Connection: Connection to system components, such as Alnor FLX-PLO plenum boxes, is achieved via a simple push-fit mechanism. Using dedicated seals on the spigots ensures a high-airtightness system without the need for complex sealing agents.
  • Flexibility and Bend Radius: Despite their durability, the ducts maintain flexibility, with a minimum bend radius ranging from 0.23m to 0.33m depending on the duct size (DN 50mm to DN 90mm). A specialised cutter (FLX-CUTTER-75) is available for precise cutting of the DN 75mm ducts.

Architect and Investor Assurance: Compliance and Hygiene

The FLX-HDPE/FLX-HDPE-A ducts meet stringent European standards, providing confidence in the long-term performance and hygiene of the MVHR system.

  • European Standard Compliance: The ducts comply with the European norm EN 17192:2018 for non-metallic ductwork. This defines key performance metrics including airtightness, pressure drop, reaction to fire, and resistance to external pressure.
  • Certified Airtightness: Products achieve a tightness class of ATC2 (D) according to PN-EN 16798-3, essential for energy-efficient ventilation systems.
  • Durability and Strength: The material allows for a high working pressure range of -750 Pa to +2000 Pa and provides compressive strength of up to 450 N for the DN 50mm to DN 90mm range.

FLX-HDPE-A: Superior Antimicrobial Performance

The anti-bacterial version of the ducting, FLX-HDPE-A, is a critical feature for projects prioritising indoor air quality.

The FLX-HDPE-A ducts feature an active ingredient addition that provides microbial resistance, tested to EN ISO 22196:2011 and EN ISO 846. The key performance metrics include:
