When is stainless steel ducting used?

Stainless steel ducting is recommended for ventilation systems installed in humid or hot environments, as well as environments where there are compounds in the air that may damage traditional galvanized steel ducting. HVAC engineers use stainless steel for aggressive and corrosive environments. A spiral duct system consists of spiral ducting, duct fittings, attenuators, dampers, etc.

Stainless steel spiral ducts available in diameters from 80 to 1600mm; from diameter 250mm are provided with external ribs to increase their stiffness and resistance to negative pressure.

Stainless steel grades

Stainless steel spiral ducting is available in two grades EN 1.4301/ AISI 304 grade EN 1.4404/AISI 316L grade. Spiral ducting made of 1.4404 (316L) sheet metal is used in the most demanding industrial ventilation systems. The addition of molybdenum makes stainless steel ducting and fittings suitable for swimming pools containing chlorine.

In stainless steel manufacturing, knowledge, experience, and top-of-the-line machinery are all necessary  - and ALNOR has you covered!
