Alnor HRU-AIR-NA | High-Efficiency Counterflow HRV Units
HRU-SlimAIR-NA
Alnor HRU-AIR-NA Series: Professional Heat Recovery Ventilation Units with Counterflow Core
The Alnor HRU-AIR-NA series, encompassing the versatile MinistAIR-NA and the compact SlimAIR-NA models, represents an expertly engineered solution for high-efficiency residential and light commercial heat recovery. Designed with a focus on ease of installation and long-term performance, these units meet the stringent requirements of installers, the spatial and technical needs of architects, and the energy efficiency goals of investors. Key features include a PET counterflow core and a specialized EPP casing, ensuring minimal heat loss and sound transmission.
Core Technical Performance and Versatility
Each unit in the HRU-AIR-NA series is built around a high-efficiency core and utilizes best-in-class components to ensure reliable operation across various installation environments.
High-Efficiency PET Core: Features a robust PET counterflow heat exchanger for high temperature recovery efficiency, with SRE ranging from 81 percent up to 90.5 percent depending on the operating conditions.
Optimized Airflow Range: Models deliver up to 193 CFM (91 L/s) (MinistAIR) or 153 CFM (72 L/s) (SlimAIR) at 0.4 inch w.g. (100 Pa) external static pressure.
Low Energy EC Motors: Units are equipped with EC centrifugal fans featuring backward curved blades, minimizing energy consumption while maintaining required flow rates.
Design Variants: Available in two primary form factors: the standard MinistAIR-NA and the low-profile, suspended SlimAIR-NA, offering flexibility for horizontal ceiling installations in tight spaces.
EPP Construction and Installation Benefits
The casing technology simplifies handling and guarantees superior durability, thermal, and acoustic isolation—a critical factor for comfortable living spaces.
EPP Insulated Casing: Utilizes high-tech Expanded Polypropylene (EPP) for a self-supporting structure that provides excellent thermal and acoustic insulation and high mechanical resistance.
Simplified Logistics: The light-weight construction, with total weight around 25 to 32 kg depending on the model, makes transport and one-person ceiling installation significantly easier for technicians.
Easy Duct Connections: All models feature 160mm (6 1/4 inch) top ports with integrated rubber seals, ensuring quick, secure, and air-tight connections.
Maintenance Access: Designed for easy access to the core and filters (Standard MERV 7/Optional MERV 13), minimizing service time.
Filtration and Air Quality
Maintaining air quality is simple with two filter options that are easily accessible via the front cover.

Advanced Control and Reliable Winter Operation
The HRU-AIR-NA series is controlled by an advanced PCB, allowing for sophisticated, energy-efficient operation and protection against frost in cold climates.
Intelligent Control Ecosystem
Wired and Wireless Control: Operation is controlled via advanced wired panels (e.g., HRQ-BUT-LCD-P5) for full parameter reading and scheduling, or wirelessly via a **built-in Wi-Fi/Bluetooth module** and a dedicated mobile application (Android, iOS) or web browser.
Demand-Controlled Ventilation (AUTO Mode): Achieves maximum energy efficiency by integrating an optional external CO2 or RH sensor (HRQ-SENS-CO2RH-P), which automatically adjusts fan speeds based on real-time ambient air quality.
Hourly/Time-Based Functions: Supports advanced programming with four speeds (PAUSE, LOW, MEDIUM, HOME) and time programs (EXIT, PARTY, AIRING).
Triple-Option Frost Protection Systems
To ensure balanced ventilation continuity even during heavy winter conditions, the units offer three available defrosting strategies:
Recirculation System (Optional): Recovers heat by temporarily redirecting exhaust air to the intake, maintaining operation in temperatures as low as -25 degC.
External Electric Preheater (Optional): A round duct electric heater (e.g., HRQ-HDE-CO1-P-160-2,5-120V) that serves as supplemental frost protection, allowing balanced flow below -3 degC.
Fan Unbalance: A gradual process that reduces the supply fan speed to prevent core freezing, operating in the range of -3 degC to +1 degC.
