The heat recovery ventilator (also known as heat recovery unit or HRU) is the most important part of a mechanical ventilation system with heat recovery. The main purpose of a heat recovery ventilator is to remove "polluted" air from rooms and supply fresh air for the inhabitants.
As the air is supplied from the outside, it passes through air filters that clean it of impurities and in the case of fine filters, even of suspended dust (smog particles). Next, the air is forced into a heat exchanger, where heat is recovered from the exhaust air and transferred to the supply air. In this way, selecting an energy-efficient heat recovery air handling unit results in lower energy consumption.
For everyone. But especially for anyone wishing to enjoy clean and fresh air at home while simultaneously reducing heating costs. Heat recovery ventilation is recommended for new buildings, because at the house design stage, we can conveniently plan, for example, where the HRU will be located.
This does not mean, however, that we have to give up the idea of changing natural ventilation to mechanical ventilation if the house is already inhabited. The ideal situation is to decide on the installation of heat recovery ventilators before building a house. Installation of heat recovery ventilation in an existing house is possible, however, it involves modernization and renovation works.
